I know the aphorism “death by PowerPoint” and have sympathy for any student whose teacher uses slide shows exclusively, but it is my experience that prepared slide shows are one of the most effective means for keeping teachers and students on track. Slide shows by themselves can be entertaining and informative if well prepared, but they can also be deadly boring if they become the sole medium of presentation.
